INSULIN RESISTANCE

Insulin resistance is one of the most common - and most overlooked - causes of fatigue, stubborn fat gain, cravings, and weight plateaus in women. It often develops from chronic under-eating, stress, hormonal disruption, and poorly designed training - not from eating “too much.”

At PKLD, over 70% of women we assess show early to moderate insulin resistance, despite being told their results are “normal.”

Low energy, sugar cravings, abdominal fat storage, poor recovery, disrupted sleep, and stalled progress despite dieting harder.

THE PKLD APPROACH

We don’t fix insulin resistance by restricting women further.

We restore insulin sensitivity by:

  • Using protein-forward, blood-sugar-stable nutrition

  • Selecting and timing carbohydrates strategically

  • Programming strength training to drive muscle-based glucose uptake

  • Rebuilding metabolic capacity before pursuing fat loss

With weekly clinical check-ins and fully integrated training and nutrition, we address the cause, not just the symptom - making fat loss predictable and sustainable.

The women below didn’t just lose weight.

They fixed the underlying issue and finally regained control of their metabolism.

Why This Works

CHRIS

Before launching PKLD Conditioning, Chris spent years working as a paramedic - where he witnessed firsthand how many people, especially women, were silently struggling with hormone-related issues like PCOS, endometriosis, menopause, and unexplained weight gain. He saw a clear gap in support and education around these conditions, and he knew something needed to change.

Driven by a desire to make a real impact beyond emergency care, Chris shifted his focus to preventative, hormone-aware coaching. Today, he combines his medical background with in-depth training in metabolic and hormonal health to support women and men through highly personalised programs. His mission is to help clients understand their bodies, feel seen, and finally get the answers and guidance they’ve been missing.

BECK

Beck’s journey into women’s health coaching started with her own. She was deep into competition prep when COVID hit, and like many, her routine , and sense of self - fell apart. It was during that time she was diagnosed with PCOS, forcing her to confront a whole new side of health beyond aesthetics and performance. That experience changed everything.

Now, Beck is committed to helping women feel stronger, more supported, and more in control of their bodies. Her coaching is rooted in empathy and lived experience - because she knows firsthand what it’s like to feel out of sync with your body and unsure where to turn. Today, she works with clients to rebuild confidence, improve hormone health, and find sustainable strength - physically and mentally.
